TASHKENT FILM ENCOUNTERS 2021

The second edition of TFE presents series of feature and short films around womanhood in Central Asia. Films directed, interpreted, or inspired by women will be screened accompanied by dialogues with the filmmakers.

TFE intends to portray female constellations in the cinematographic the landscape of Central Asia, contextualizing with the films from the neighboring countries of the
region.


This is a chance to reflect on the female figure in modern society through its image on-screen traveling across cultures, visions, and memories over decades of time. Somewhat depicted by the cinematography of Central Asia stays rather universal and can be easily related to by the viewers of the present.
