We will create a portrait of a person, and convey his personality and mood with the help of color.
As examples, you can see the work of Picasso and N. Turnova. Who is pictured here? How do you understand that? What facial features suggested this? How old is the person in the picture? What is he going through? What is his character? What could happen to him? What are the signs of this? Is it possible to assume, judging by the colors, what personality this person has, what mood?
And what colors would you describe your mood with? What color is joy, sadness, anger, or kindness?
Natalia Turnova, nameless, 2018
You will need:
Let's get started!
1. Choose whose portrait you would like to make (grandmother, friend, your own)
2. Draw the face of this person with a pencil on the sheet (draw with a pencil, thin lines, without painting: the oval of the face is large, on the whole sheet). Fill the face: eyes, nose, mouth, eyebrows, ears, hairstyle, neck. Everything should be drawn in large details - to make it convenient to paint with plasticine (correct face proportions are not very important)
3. Choose colors (absolutely any) according to the person’s emotions and “decorate” with large strokes (tear off a small piece of plasticine, knead it with your fingers so that it warms up and becomes softer, smear it with plasticine on paper inside the drawn outline). If you mix two different colors together, you get a shade.
4. First, “paint” large areas (cheeks, forehead), then work on small areas (eyes, eyelashes)
We learned how to work with different colors, with their help it is possible to convey the mood and personality of a person in a portrait.
